Talk about the epitome of casual West Coast living. The name says it all, Côtier (cotierhome.com) in French, which means “coastal” is very appropriate. To begin with, the exterior of this charming home decor gem, is simply inviting. I did notice as I walked around Coronado that I did not see very many home decor retail shops. Until the bright happy colors of Côtier couldn’t help but capture the attention of my eyes. As I walked into the store the simple beachy aroma of jasmine and sea spray penetrated my sense of smell. I, for one, was completely California Dreamin’. Côtier is the only complete home decor retail shop in Coronado. In my opinion there is no need for another since they cater to every need a customer would have.
This little corner of bliss showcases a style of classic coastal homes varying from different parts of the world. They offer beautiful decorative accessories, plush pillows, eclectic wall art, hand-knotted rugs, unique furniture, beautifully lit light fixtures, elegant tableware, inviting bedding and many more items to complement any home. Not only does Côtier have the perfect blend of coastal eclecticity but also the best customer service. The lady, who’s name I don’t remember, could not have been more friendlier. They have custom design services that include, window treatments, slipcovers, reupholstery and much much more. The store is carefully and meticulously merchandised to perfection. The displays are continuously changing and only showcase a fraction of high quality home furnishings from the U.S. and abroad. I can tell that they take great pride in this local favorite. Côtier also has its very own bragging rights as it was featured in Better Homes & Garden: Kitchen + Bath Ideas-Nov/Dec 2012, Best of Coronado Home Furnishings 2012 and 2013. If you live in Coronado and for whatever reason you have never been there, I would suggest to run there and see what I am talking about. If you are a visitor like myself you should also make it a point to drop and and get inspired!
