Who doesn’t like to begin with a nice clean canvas? Well I for sure love it! This project was a labor of love, not that my previous projects weren’t but this particular client is more than a client. Caleb thank you for the opportunity. The objective was to create a relaxing, cozy gathering spot where family and friends can relax, talk and engage in fabulous activities. One of the first items that was purchased was the beautiful area rug. After all the area rug is what would be anchoring this sunlit room. The perfect run was found at Nebraska Furniture Mart. The cream rug with swirly hues of blues and greens gave me lots to work with. While searching for the rug we came across these two beautiful distressed leather chairs with metal basis which added a casual feel. Now we had to find the perfect sectional which we did find at Erdos At Home. The Christian Corner Sectional was the perfect combo of coziness and fabulousness. I knew when I started on this project that I wanted to incorporate cowhide in some way so we found these great cowhide poufs at Z Gallerie for extra seating. While I was shopping at Wilsons Lighting for a ceiling light fixture I came across two stone squares. Then the idea of pairing them with the hide poufs to serve as a coffee table and as extra seating for entertaining, came to mind. Luckily the dimensions of both the poufs and concrete squares matched perfectly! I didn’t find the right light fixture I was looking for at Wilson’s Lighting but I did find it at West Elm. At this point all the key players have been put into play. It was time to start accessorizing. I used Home Goods, Tuesday Morning, Z Gallerie, and multiple stores in the West Bottoms and a couple of online stores (Wayfair, Overstock and Joss And Main). The final touch was finding the right piece to display on the mantle of the fireplace. Lo and behold I found it at Restoration Hardware. The 19th C. Grande Semaine Dressage Horse was the perfect addition.
