It’s always a great treat when we travel to one of the BEST cities in the USofA, Austin TX! I decided to stay somewhere different and researched new hotels. To my surprise, Kimpton Hotels, opened the hip Hotel Van Zandt! It is located just off Rainey Street which is a historic sleepy residential street nestled right next to downtown. Bars and eateries have flocked to Rainey Street since redeveloping the area. Ok, now back to HVZ, the 319 rooms and suites have Carrera marble bathrooms with simple palettes of calm blues and cool grays and unique interesting art. Have I mentioned the amenities? Well, all up-to-date technology and amenities galore! One of my personal favorite amenities was being able to use their bikes to go for a bike ride around beautiful Lady Bird Johnson Lake (LBJ), which is right around the corner. When your day begins to come to a close you don’t even have to leave the hotel to have Texas-sized Southern-inspired fare in a distinct modern way. Geraldine’s is located on the fourth floor where strains of music flow through the dining room to the pool deck. The customer service from valet to concierge was top notch. Everyone greeted me with a smile, customer service is everything! Last but not least, they are pet friendly! As a proud parent of a 10 week maltepoo this is definitely my home away from home.
They hosted a “Splash Days” event over Labor Day weekend. Amazing Place!!
I totally agree! Wish I had been there for “Splash”…next year!
