A Tartan Holiday

As the holiday season comes to an end I thought I would add one more post before 2018 begins. This particular shoot was a fun and fashionable collaboration with Wilson Lighting. Essentially I turned my festive cross-hatched patterned outfit into a chic space using furnishings and accessories from their website. Think, fashion meets interiors. As I am sure you have been able to see for yourselves during the most wonderful time of the year that plaid is everywhere. Plaid shirts are not the only piece of plaid clothing that you will see but pants as well. As seen below on yours truly. Whether you find my plaid pants hipster-ish, which is super on trend or too preppy they are one of the most ubiquitous patterns in modern fashion. The tartan patterned pants are here for now to stay and are considered to be one of the most stylish fashion pieces. Momentum has carried them through nicely to where we are now. You can play around with these pants and make them work for you in every possible way. Of course, when it comes to pulling off plaid or any other printed pants there are certain guidelines that need to be taken into consideration in order to curate an effective outfit that will avoid a literal clown-like resemblance. I would like to bring up a ‘rule’ that I like to adhere to when wearing plaid pants and that is the use of neutral staples to balance your statement piece. Of course, print on print is not something necessarily to avoid. I for one enjoy mixing patterns but as a concept it is tricky to do as well. Now, if you have the confidence to try it, then be my guest. If done correctly, you will turn heads for all the right reasons.
