Since the beginning of the year, I have been very fortunate to be working non-stop on a few projects.  I count my blessings each time a new project comes my way.  This particular one really has a special place in my heart.  As a business owner and interior decorator you expect to grow and evolve in every aspect of your entrepreneurship.  I have always been more of a residential decorator but I branched out into commercial and I had a blast!  I was a bit reluctant and nervous going into it as this was a new domain for me.  We all have a bit of fear of the unknown.  The most intimidating part of this project was working for a company that has been around for several years.  I doubted myself by thinking this was way over my head.  Having had been considered for this project really added to my insecurities, as I did not want to disappoint them.  I then realized, as I have done many times before, that if you don’t take that leap of faith, you will never realize your full potential.  So my advice to you is to not psych yourself out and commit yourself to the process of achieving your goals.

I had the great pleasure of meeting and working with some fantastic and talented people that I have known for awhile and some whom I recently met, on this project.  Some are local business owners and others work in nationally recognized retail stores.  One of the many reasons why I love what I do is networking and developing relationships with this individuals.  I have to take the time to mention and recognize some of the local business owners that helped me with all my projects, especially this one.  I will start with Joey Mendez, Buck Wimberly and their team over at ULAH (ulahkc.com).  Not only is it a men’s clothing store but you will find everything for your home.  Secondly, Cody Brown over at R24 Studios (r24studios.com).  If you have not been to his studio in The Historic West Bottoms, run do not walk there!  Cody, was instrumental in materializing this, what I thought was a crazy vision, of several hexagonal mirrored pieces as a headboard.  He literally took what I envisioned and made this functional and stunning multi-mirrored headboard.  Just goes to show you the talent this artist/furniture maker possesses.  For me, it is perfection.  As you scroll down you will see it in one of the bedrooms.   In the same bedroom you will see Cody’s, Webwonder side table that I used as a night stand.

Along with the locally owned businesses previously mentioned, I also worked with my usual national & international  go-tos.  Surprisingly, I have a new retailer whom I am obsessed with, TARGET (target.com).  Their HOME section is wonderful.  It is good quality and very reasonably priced.  The majority of the accessories came from this retail juggernaut.  My other favorite usual suspects are, West Elm (westelm.com), Z Gallerie (zgallerie.com), Home Goods (homegoods.com), IKEA (ikea.com) and Cost Plus World Market (stores.worldmarket.com).  Everyone mentioned, helped me tremendously in transitioning from residential to my very first commercial interior decorating opportunity.  I could not be more happier with the results, enjoy!  I do want to give a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Nolan Realestate  for the opportunity.
